Just a couple of pics taken after a brief April shower. The garden was looking lush and verdant after the downpour, though the sheep looked a little unimpressed!
I was so pleased and proud to be asked to produce illustrations for the Alan Turing Year celebrations, marking the centenary of his birth. I have been fascinated by Turing for some time now and jumped at the chance to design the promotion poster (above, yellow) and a first day cover for the Bletchley Park Post Office (above, blue). There was a great deal of press interest with the latter, resulting with my radio debut on Heather Stott's lunchtime show on Radio Manchester. It was so much fun!
An illustration for the brilliant 26 Stories project, with one illustration and story for every day leading up to Christmas. This one was based on a fantastic story by Tom Collins about the mysterious Nutcracker. Great fun to do!
A quickie illustration for the gorgeous Amelia's Magazine, and for a lovely cause too. Do have a look at the article and youtube thingy, it's rather brilliant.
Done for, well, no good reason really. Bit of a Photoshop exercise and homage to the fabulous Shaun of the Dead. Oh, and by the way, you've got red on you.
These were produced from some illustrations for a forthcoming book 'Hens, Ducks and Bees' for Spring Hill Publishing. They were black and white illustrations that I thought deserved a splash of colour. Since doing them, I have been unable to get 'The Ugly Duckling' out of my head. So he went with a quack and a waddle and a quack, and a flurry of eiderdown...
A few shots taken from my driveway as the snow cleared this afternoon. Very proud of the surrounding landscape, extremely lucky to live in such a picturesque place. Alas, the break in the snow did not last long and another few inches has fallen since. Its a good job the fridge is well stocked...
If you are in trouble with loan sharks, dangling off the side of a cliff, trapped in a car that's about to fall through a crack in a major American bridge, on a hi-jacked plane or in any other form of peril, you could call... The Rubbish Superheroes. I wouldn't bother though, they'll probably just call the police for you.
Designs for gift cards to be used instore at The City Cottage. If you buy a voucher, they will be wrapped in one of these! Check out what the City Cottage do at www.citycottage.co.uk
Welcome to Scribbleblock! Here be monsters, dragons, birds, strange little characters, wild and mysterious ideas, pointless concepts, implausible projects and, oh yes, the odd scribble of a sketch.

Since graduating in Illustration with Animation in 2005, I have worked with my comrade Sam Tickner to create Firecatcher, an illustration and design studio based in Lancashire and Derby.
I work in a range of media to produce the doodles you see here, for a range of clients. If you have a commission, if no one else can help, and if you can find me, maybe you can hire... sorry, lapsed into 80s TV there. Get in touch if you like what you see.
